DJ Yacob

Yacob Charles was born on December 10th 1991, a little while after his identical twin brother Asfa. Growing up in St James, Yacob loved playing football and listening to music. His father being a DJ who went by the name Lion King, Yacob idolized his father and started playing music too, he and his brother would later form the Lion Twin group and go on to win the inaugural 96.1 WEFM and Coke Zero DJ Intercol competition together with their Second Announcer Zahzy.

Yacob’s career started back in 2003 after his father and Jamaican artist Fred Locks took the twins to play at the Ethiopian children show, they also played at 45 Shop lock, his career has been growing since the past 8 years. He has played at Bounty Killer and Elephant man’s concert, Bunny Wailer, Freddie McGregor and Gregory Issacs in concert, Jr Gong and Stephen Marley as well as Jr. Gong and Nas, Vybz Kartel shows, Sanchez and Berres Hammond shows and also played in Tobago on numerous occasion.

Yacob is currently studying Sound engineering and he has aspirations of becoming a successful music producer all while improving his Deejaying skills and be the best that he can be.
