Ding Dong

Starting from humble beginnings in Cap Di Ville, Point Fortin a young man with a love and passion for music was born. Selector Andre an only child to proud parents Sharon Joseph and Jonathon Houlder was born August 12, 1988. Being the typical “boy child”, Andre liked playing outdoors. He could always be found playing football on the beach with the neighborhood children or hunting with his dad; although never killing or capturing an animal he always loved nature.

With a passion and keen ear for music Andre always positioned himself to be in around music. So much so that while completing his secondary school education Andre held down a part time job with a local radio station in point fortin, gaining much of his fan base while still in school. Not forsaking one for the other Andre completed his secondary education receiving a full certificate and also moved on to be one the youngest most talented Disc Jockey’s to date on urban radio.

During his stint at the local radio station Andre realized that this was not where his dream had ended, as he one day aspires to be a musical producer. And has started learning and affiliating himself with popular local music producer Darryl Braxton. In addition to observing the productions of International musical producer Swiss Beats. Andre also emulates Popular International DJ Tony Matterhorn for his lyrical and humorous abilities and his notorious arguments at sound clashes worldwide. 

Not restricting himself to a single genre of music, Andre can play anything from minimal techno, soca, calypso, dancehall and all its spin offs to rap just to name a few. He keeps himself abreast with all the industry’s developments mastering the art of Serato and also being well versed with Pro Tools for musical production.

Andre has been passionately mixing music since 2004 and as such sharpened his skills as a DJ, playing at all leading nightclubs and events in Trinidad and Tobago, travelling to England, Canada, Grenada, Antigua and Brooklyn New York. With his most memorable occasion being, playing on the musical truck during the carnival parade on Carnival Monday and Tuesday with Island People in 2006. During this short space of time Andre has accumulated an extensive DJ CV, and with residences at various reputable clubs and bars. He is well on his way on becoming one of the superstar DJs of the future. Not to mention his affiliation with one of Trinidad’s leading Sound Systems Associate Degree.

If Andre is not perfecting his “scratch” or taking classes for musical production he can be found hanging out with his friends or eating his favourite food, pasta. To all the ladies out there Andre has one pet peeve and that is quarrelling, he will neither partake nor tolerate it. This Leo born man only has talent and love to share so much to his favourite juice is passion fruit *smile*
