Granted money attracts women, KI will have a hard time fending off the hopefuls after he took the Chutney Soca Monarch crown on Saturday night, ahead of the Jai Master, Rikki Jai, who finished second in the competition. Rick Ramoutar was third in the Chutney Soca finals.
KI’s celebratory party with friends and family at his Barataria home went sour a few hours after his victory when a lone gunman tried to stage a robbery in the wee hours of Sunday morning. The bandit was shot in the chest.
