Deputy Police Commissioner Jack Ewatski is supporting the mayor of Port of Spain in his bid to ban glass bottles in the capital city, during the carnival celebrations.
Ewatski made his sentiments known during an interview on the CNC3 early morning programme today.
He said it will work well to increase the level of safety for carnival.
The matter is now in the hands of local government minster Chadradesh Sharma who must take the relevant legislation to parliament for approval.
