Bunji Garlin won’t exactly say that an experience at last year’s soca monarch competition helped in making his decision to forgo competition in 2012.
He is insisting that that he and Faye Ann Lyons do not want to split their focus and would rather be pushing the music rather than the props.
In fact Bunji Garlin explained an incident last year in which three companies which worked with him to provide props pulled out just hours before his final night performance.
He never planned for it and so ended up performing without props with just a fireman on stage and the main flame placed in front of the main stage at the soca monarch finals 2011.
But the four time soca monarch who first entered the competition in 2009 and his wife Faye Ann who holds double title, said they will focus on the music.
