Bunji Garlin believes he is facing a backlash for his decision to pull out of the international soca monarch competition.
Weeks after he made the announcement, Garlin says the organizers of the Fantastic Friday event believe that he will be competing with them on carnival Friday night when he draws all his fans to another event.
The founder and leader of the Asylum band issued a statement yesterday insisting that he NEVER told anyone not to go to the soca monarch finals.
In a statement yesterday, the four time soca monarch said he has already spoken to three artistes who wanted to take a stand and pull out from the competition but he insisted they should focus on their performance instead.
Garlin said he left the competition with no malice and has offered blessings to the Caribbean Prestige Foundation for the platform that was provided over the years for artistes to shine.
Meantime Fay Ann Lyons who pulled out of the Soca Monarch competition along with her husband added her share via Twitter.
Fay Ann said if the years of her contribution and that of her father SuperBlue goes without gratitude from Soca Monarch so be it.!
